Removal tips

Weight
Often overlooked but try and keep boxes to a reasonable weight, if you can’t lift them, then our crew may have the same problem. removals isle of wight

Clothing
This can often be bagged, rucksacks are idea, another tip from one of our clients was the bags for life from supermarkets, if using black bags, the cheaper ones, can be flimsy and tear easily, so give them a bit of a tug first. Garden refuse and rubble sacks are much thicker and cost effective as they can be reused.

Fragile’s
Pack fragile’s in boxes, well wrapped, in newspaper or bubble wrap, and do mark the boxes as fragile, we suggest you do not leave items in furniture as sometimes we need to turn things sideways for loading purposes. if at all possible fill the boxes totally as it actually helps strengthen then.

Fridges/Freezers
Make sure these are fully defrosted at least 24 hours ahead of the move.

Flat pack furniture
If you have any of the above, we recommend using a jiffy bag for all the nuts, bolts and screws, then taping it to a piece of that furniture.

Boxes
Ideally they should be sealed, as items protruding can be awkward, dangerous or get damaged during the move.

Access.
Please keep entrances/exits/stairways/driveways clear to prevent accidents.

Parking
Ideally we need to park as close to the building as possible, so it maybe a case of you needing to have a chat with your neighbours to give up their space for a few hours, we find a nice bottle of wine as a goodbye present, helps that favour. If permits or Parking meters are in operation we will need advance notice of this.
